Vivo V7 + Review - Price, Full Specs and Feature

One interesting product to follow is the development of smartphones, where smartphones are devices that are loved by the current generation. The trend of the latest developments on smartphones is the FullView Display or bezelless screen which is indeed interesting because it presents a frame with a wider screen but with a more compact size. So Vivo also presents the latest smartphone from Vivo named Vivo V7 + in Indonesia with a FullView Display screen and advantages in terms of selfie with Clearer Selfie technology. This time we will review this phone in various aspects.

Body and Screen

Vivo V7 + has a sleek and impressive premium body with a 6 inch screen. The bezel is so thin that it can be said to be almost 'bezelless' because the bezell is only 2.15mm in size. The screen to body ratio is approximately 84.4% which can be said to almost fill the front so that Vivo also calls the screen FullView Display, while the screen itself has a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels (HD).

For the body, this smartphone has a unibody build with a sleek premium exterior. The back cover layer is also not easy to get dirty and is not easy to keep traces or finger marks. For the fingerprint sensor is placed on the back of the top that allows users to use it.

When we match it next to a 5.5 inch non full display cellphone, the size of Vivo V7 + is only slightly larger, even though the screen displayed by Vivo V7 + feels much more spacious than the 5.5 inch screen. The good of this cellphone still feels comfortable for us to hold and doesn't feel too big compared to the 6 inch cellphone that still has a screen design with a conventional (non bezelless) bezel.

This device comes in 2 color choices namely gold and matte black and has a height of 155.8 mm, width 75.7 mm and weighs only 165 grams. And the thickness of Vivo V7 Plus is only 7.7mm.

Memory and Storage Capacity

Speaking of memory and storage capacity, we admit that RAM and Internal storage offered by Vivo V7 + are quite large compared to today's smartphones in the market and certainly become one of the advantages of this phone. In addition, Vivo V7 + has a dedicated microSD slot (not hybrid) so we can add storage capacity of up to 256 GB.

You can see the use of Ram memory and internal storage when we have not installed and run additional applications, it seems there are still 50.29 GB of storage space left and 1.67 GB remaining in RAM.

Rear Camera

Speaking of cameras, the Vivo V7 + phone is indeed a perfect camera. The 16 mp rear camera sensor with PDAF technology (Phase Detection Auto Focus) enables faster photo capture and optimized algorithms that promise quality photos.

This smartphone also supports manual use for those of you who understand photography well and want to take photos according to their own settings by activating Professional mode.

To take photos, Vivo V7 + also supports choice of commands by hand or sound other than touch. In terms of video recording, there are three resolutions supported by this cellphone, namely 1080p, 720p and 480p.

At the top of the UI button the rear camera from the left is the flash button, HDR, Live Photo, the choice of shooting modes (Ultra HD, PPT, Professional, Slow, Time Lapse) and the right is the setting where we can set the place or location storage of photos whether on cellphone or SD card memory. While at the bottom there is a button Beautiful Face (Face Beauty), Take Photos (Take Photo) and Video and when swiped to the left there is still a Panorama button.

For the front UI camera at the top, you will see a different icon display at the top when activating Face Beauty mode, where the third icon in the form of a profile avatar is a button to activate the Portrait Mode, and at the bottom there is a Group Selfie button, Face Beauty, Take photos, and videos. While the Face Beauty menu itself displays 3 settings options, namely Buffing, Skin tone and Whitening to adjust what facial image optimization we want .

The rear camera of Vivo V7 + is also capable of producing 64MP Ultra HD resolution photos that work through software that combines 4 results of 16MP photos into one to get very detailed photos.

Front camera

The Vivo V7 + Selfie Camera has a larger 24MP sensor with a rear camera. Portrait mode that is included in this cellphone is capable of producing the bokeh effect commonly found in DSLR camera results. And on the front camera, we can activate the Face Beauty feature to get better photos. For video recording using the front camera, the resolution supported is 480p, 720p, 1080p together with the rear camera.

In conditions in the room at night with lighting that is not too bright, Vivo V7 + is able to take photos clearly and brightly, only if the photo is enlarged there is still a little visible noise.

The use of Portrait Mode is indeed able to produce photos that look more attractive and work well when we test.

Battery

Vivo V7 + uses the Snapdragon 450 chipset made with a 14nm production process that makes this phone more power efficient.

When we charge, from a battery level of 21% to 76% (an increase of about 55%) it takes 1 hour (the device is on). And to reach 100% of the remaining 21% power takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. The included charger head has a 5.0 V putput with 2A power which allows charging fast enough on this smartphone.

Vivo provides a power saver feature that will be displayed on the screen automatically and provides options for us to activate it when the battery is low / low. This battery power saver feature only activates the main functions of the cellphone so that battery usage will be minimal.

For standard use only (repeatedly photos, 1x short video recordings, several short phone calls, playing games for around 45 minutes, active Wifi, without messaging or social media applications such as WA, active FB) Vivo V7 + can last 1 day more without a charge and this certainly shows that the device is relatively power efficient (the author found that the battery is still around 40% for 24 hours).

Performance

Vivo V7 + uses the OctaCore (eight core) chipset made by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 450 which has a clock speed of up to 1.8 GHz. We tested the performance of this phone using the Antutu benchmark application, Geekbench 4.0 and Nenamark 2.0.

And the score obtained on Antutu is 58917 indicating Vivo V7 + has a relatively good performance, where the score almost matches chipsets from higher classes.

The Geekbench 4.0 score of a 767 single core CPU does not seem too large, this is probably due to Snapdragon 450 clocking at 1.8 Ghz, but the multicore CPU score of this cellphone of 3900 is high, even the score on the Adreno 506 GPU computing 2958 is satisfactory so that this device can play 3D games smoothly and even beat flagship level cellphone scores from other brands.

For 3D display performance, the benchmark results of Nenamark 2.0 from Vivo 7+ also yield high results with high frame per second of 60.1 fps.
